January 2010 Playlist and Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!! So it's 11 p.m. on New Year's Eve and where am I...? Obviously in front of my Macbook. I'm at home. At first I was a little bummed, but then I realized I'd rather be here doing what I'm doing, than doing anything else. So while all of you are getting drunk for me out there with the rest of the crazies, I'm safe at home. Drinking some wine. FINALLY burning some CD's for a good friend. I promised I'd burn these Eric Roberson CD's MONTHS ago, but hey, better late than never. :) So as I'm finishing up my friendly duties, I'm ready to do something for myself. I'm also finishing up a new collection of some neo-soul/soul music songs I love for another friend. I love creating these soul music compilations. I'm telling you, DJ Ms. Soul Star WILL be creating some compilations for REAL one day. :) Hmm...*buzzing* Lol, thanks wine. What else is going on?? Oh yeah...The combination of this wine with the eclectic sounds co...

November Playlist

Ok sorry for the tardiness....Happy November!! The month is half over and I'm still not exactly sure how I'd categorize this month. It's been a bit of a random 14 days. But random is a word I've often used to describe myself, so it's all good. :) Musically I've discovered some new stuff that I'd love to share with you. Impromptu trips to Rasuptin's are always exciting. In a recent trip, I got a neo-soul CLASSIC- Maxwell's 1996 debut album, Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite . I can't believe I'd never owned it. For those who've heard it, I've had 3 songs in constant rotation- besides his amazing singles "Ascensi on (Don't Ever Wonder)" and "Sumthin' Sumthin'", I've also been insanely playing "Suite Lady." That song has about 5 e xtremely random, hilarious moments. That coupled with the definitively '90's bass line makes for a great song. But for the new stuff...the 2 new albums that I ...

October Playlist

Man...I'm feeling like such a lover this month. A loveless lover , though. A loveless lover who can't help but to love sitting around listening to the love that other lovers are experiencing... and then feeling alone once the song goes off. And I realize that those lovers are off somewhere loving. And I'm here. Alone. The soundtrack to October is as such... "How much more can one heart take? Can something broken find new ways to break? She was my heaven, but for heaven's sake I did all I could do to please her- But her heart must have, like, amnesia She took my soul as well as my Visa..." "How Could She Do It" by Eric Roberson  1)"What I'd Do" by Conya Doss from Still "I gotta know that you're okay, I think about you way too much..." 2) "Anything (to Get Your Attention)" by Van Hunt from Van Hunt "Paint my face on your bedroom wall- I'll call my name, up and down the hall..." 3)"Take Me Away...

Nervousness at work!

"It's funny how strangers turn to friends... Friends turn to more than just friends... And then....?" "Further" by Eric Roberson from  Music Fan First Lol...random lyric for the day...For some reason that line has been stuck in my head all day- for no good reason!! Well this week is the most important week of my working life. I've been waiting a year and a half for this week. And hopefully by the end of it, I will finally NOT be a trainee anymore!!! And then...? (LOL) a RAISE!! HOLLAAAA!! :) I'm a little nervous, but I'm feeling positive about it. Random question that's on my mind, "Would a gay guy try to get a girl's number? And then call her?? ALOT??!" I'm just saying....I've met someone a little questionable and my gaydar has gone off. Hmm...??

Saturday Night Madness....

Yep, it's definitely Saturday night. Past 11 p.m. And what am I doing?? BLOGGING??! Today has been a completely uneventful day. If it wasn't for all the sleep I got and that BOMB chicken Chipotle burrito I had, one might have called this day a complete waste! Oh well. Everybody needs a day of nothingness.

September Playlist

"You ain't from around here, what you think is hot?? I tell 'em whatever I like I put it on my radio You can probably find something new on my radio If you wanna ride, cool- just don't touch my radio..." -"Radio" by Musiq Soulchild off the OnMyRadio album (2008) A lot of people ask me what I'm listening to. It's always something different. And I'm always discovering something new .
